I'm a true Middle Ga. Native

A Warner Robins Kid
I grew up on Meadowridge Drive on the north side of Warner Robins. I attended Parkwood Elementary School and then Northside Junior High School where I made lifetime friends that I still stay in touch with today.

Fun at Sandy Run (International City) Golf Course
At 12 years old I started my career working for Mary B’s Snack Bar at International City Golf Course. While my friends played, for years on the weekends I cooked and served Hamburgers and Hotdogs to hungry golfers. I earned $48 every weekend. I was RICH! (not to mention, Miss Mary B.  let me eat my weight in free Burgers and Dogs.) This fat boy was in HEAVEN!

A Warner Robins High School Graduate
At age 15, my family moved to the south side of town.  We lived on Briarcliff drive and a short walk to Fountain Park where I spent my summers lying by the pool and chatting it up with the girls. At 16 years old, Dad put me into business with a truck, Snapper mower and all the tools I needed to service year round the three dozen customers I acquired. I worked hard and paid dad back for the truck and equipment. My Senior year I graduated with honors and took off for UGA.

A Warner Robins Small Businessman
When I became Sophomore at UGA, dad started his entrepreneurial career with Mike Houston’s Car Wash and Mike Houston’s Auto Care. Dad agreed to let me leave college and run the Car Wash and Quick Lube. While managing the complex I saw opportunities to put in place my own time saving processes. My factory efficient processes allowed me to service cars faster than the industry standard. When purchased, the Car Wash averaged 100 cars on Saturdays.  When we sold the car wash, it serviced upwards of 500 vehicles. The lube center which had averaged around 30 vehicles on a Saturday, serviced nearly 150 with institution of my processes.

I eventually left the Car Wash and Quick Lube Industry due to health issues. I pivoted by obtaining entry level IT positions and going to school at night while working full time for Software Companies. I achieved my Bachelors of Science degree at Macon State College and graduated as an Honor Graduate. I then moved on to a career in software development working at a small startup on Robins Air Force base, and later working for such corporations as AT&T and CVS Caremark.

Living it up in Macon
After 20 years of the Atlanta rat race, in 2021 I returned to the middle Ga. area.  I live here in Macon with my wife Teresa and our furry children, Ozzy and Harley. Teresa is also a Middle Georgian as she’s a native Maconite and a graduate of Wesleyan College. We frequent awesome downtown Macon for dining and live music.  Macon is the best place in the state for fun.
